Rebecca only nodded when he answered her question about how he injured his arm. It wasn't like she wanted the details. She just wanted to know how he had injured it and that was it. She raised her eyebrows though when he started to talk about how it was to kiss Brooke Davis. It didn't really interest her but she was surprised that he didn't like it that much. Though Rebecca had learned from romantic movies and TV shows that it was always better to kiss someone that you really liked it, and not just anyone.
She let out a laugh when he started to talk about cheer leading and how they would need more hot cheerleaders if they wanted to win. Rebecca thought that it was the typical guy response. In her opinion cheer leading was more than just being hot and the judges knew that. But she did blush again when he looked her up and down and gave her yet another compliment. "Huh, thank you. Though I think that our squad needs a change. I mean our routines are so normal and overrated. I think that the head cheer leader should start to think about things like that."
When she realized that she had once again rambled about cheer leading she decided to change the topic. The topic was changed to music and she couldn't believe that he didn't recognize the song. "It's from High School Musical two, haven't you heard of it? It has basketball and they all start to randomly sing. I was like ten or something when the movies came out. I used to have a crush on Zac Efron and I knew the songs by heart. Please excuse my ten year old self," she said with a laugh. "I used to have the soundtrack but I don't have it anymore- It doesn't really fit between my coldplay and 30 seconds to mars collections"
Rebecca had no idea why it felt easier to talk to him today or why why she kept asking him questions, and actually being interested at what he had to say.Maybe it was true what people said about not judging the book by its cover. Still Rebecca was confused as to why she liked talking to him and she wondered what changed from their first meeting. He annoyed her then and frustrated her, but that wasn't the case now. "So, have you decided what you are going to buy for you friend?"

Lucas was not really that much into the cheerleading stuff but he understood what it was to love and have a passion for something. Se he nodded as she went on about routines. In reality he was too busy checking out the racks of CDs and admiring how she blushed. As she informed him of where the song was from he was grateful that he had never seen that movie. Of course he really was not into watching that much television in general. Unless he watched a show and really got interested in it a good deal Lucas usually preferred to read a book or play a game of basketball with the guys. Occasionally Haley got him into watching a show that she was interested in, but that was what friends are for. So he went along with it usually without too many complaints.
"Sometimes I'm so glad I prefer a good book." Although he did appreciate that her collection included some Coldplay and 30 Seconds to Mars. Apparently she had grown out of her Disney phase. Lucas smiled at Rebecca. "Well just as long as it's not still in your collection I think I excuse your ten year old self. Your taste has clearly matured since then." Although he realized that there were probably a ton more girls out there with a crush on the Zac Efron guy than he could probably imagine. "Now that I think of it he might of been in a show that Haley begged me to watch with her for a while there. I think it was called Summerland or something. All I know is that they had this one really hot sexy actress on the show at some point. I think she just liked looking at the one slightly older actor that played the surfer when he was shirtless though."
Lucas shook his head as he smiled while focusing on the bunch of CDs in the section he was looking at. It would be hard to pick out just some album to buy for Haley. He kept looking and he was more or less skimming through them now. After all he was looking for something that they would not necessarily usually buy. It was just a matter of time before he came across it, the one album that she did not have. At least not as far as he knew. It was a Barenaked Ladies album named Gordon and as he took a look to see what tracks were on it he saw the song he was looking for, the same one that they had heard some guy playing at the park the one time some summers back, If I Had A $1,000,000. They had both found it to be entertaining at the time and up until know he was rather certain they had both forgotten to look and see what album it had been on. "I think I'll by her this one," he announced holding it up for her approval.

"Oh right Summarland. Yeah, he was on the show. I've forgotten all about the show," she told with a smile. When she was younger she used to watch a lot of shows and have lots of celebrity crushes. Her friends would come over and they would watch shows, and swoon over the hot guys. Lucas seemed to watch TV shows for the hot girls and well Rebecca watched shows for the hot boys, and sometimes for the stories. But she usually liked sitcoms because she found all the new teen shows to be weird. Maybe she was the weird one though for not watching them.
Her friends were obsessed with shows like Gossip Girl and Glee, and while she watched a couple of episodes of the shows she got never got into them. Instead she liked shows like How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, and some criminal shows like Bones and Criminal Minds. She didn't like to read though. She preferred to watch movies and she would pick movies over books and TV shows. She would also pick gossip magazines over books. "I actually prefer a good movie over TV shows, but some shows aren't that bad," she told and looked at the album that he had picked for his friend. She knew who the Barenaked Ladies were but she wasn't that familiar with their songs. She had only heard one of their songs and it wasn't bad so she figured that his friend would like it. Especially if she already liked the band. "Looks good to me. I've only heard one of their songs and that the theme song for The Big Bang Theory," she told with a laugh and started to make her way to the cashier.
It was then that she realized that they would soon end their conversation because both of them would have their albums, and to her surprise she didn't want the conversation to end. She wanted the conversation to go on but she had no idea what to do about it. It wasn't like she could say anything to make him stay, so she just kept quiet.

Lucas watched as Rebecca went to check out with the albums she was buying. He let her go ahead with it as he went over to look at the DVDs to see if they had a good selection or not. If they did not he would just try to order one online or sneak a trip in at the store in Tree Hill when he got back into town. Luke knew his mother's taste in music a little and figured that if he could get her something like a DVD for her of one of her favorite bands that it would make her happy. Maybe they could even watch it together while he was there for the weekend.
As he looked over the DVDs he found that they probably did have what he was looking for, which was good news. They seemed to keep a good stock of Bon Jovi DVDs. It kind of surprised him seeing how most stores did not. Perhaps it was because they got more business and sales that way since not everyone was probably able to order them online for one reason or another. He looked them over quick to see what was on which ones. Luke did not want to take too long because otherwise Rebecca would probably take off somewhere and he would not see her again for awhile. So he picked Bon Jovi - The Crush Tour out of the bunch of them and headed to the cashier with the money he had saved up from helping Keith out around the shop before it closed.
After he was checked out and had the CD and DVD in the bag he was then holding he looked around for her. Luke hoped that he had not taken to long looking for the DVD as he still wanted to spend sometime with her while they still did not have an audience like they did at school. Lucas spotted her again not after long off to the side a little and walked over to her. "I couldn't forget to get something for my mom." He smiled at her. "You waited around for me..."

When Rebecca paid for her albums she looked around for Lucas but couldn't see him at first. He wasn't waiting in line and she wondered where he went. She had no idea why she was looking for him and waiting for him, but she just did. She knew that she didn't want their conversation to end because she was actually enjoying his company, and thinking about it she even enjoyed his company back in school. It didn't matter if they were fighting or being civil with each other.
Rebecca took a deep breath of relief when she spotted him over at the DVD section. She played with her phone while waiting for him to finish and when she saw him making his way towards her she put down the phone and gave him a smile. He then mentioned something about buying something to his mom too and she just nodded at that. Though his later comment caught her off gourd. She had no idea why what to respond to it. She couldn't say that she waited for him because she wanted to continue talking to him. In her head he wanted the same thing as she did but that was just in her head, and pretending couldn't help her this time. She could pretend that he liked her but that wouldn't make him want to stay and talk.
She confused herself with her own thoughts and decided to just respond to his comment. She had no idea what she was going to say but she would probably figure something out. "Oh..right....well...I didn't want you to get lost," she said. It wasn't that bad but if he knew her he would think that it was out of character. She usually didn't care if people got lost. After a few seconds of silence she couldn't handle it anymore or the fact that she wanted to talk to him but didn't want him to know. "Okay, I'm going to be honest with you. What I said before was a lie because I couldn't careless if you got lost. It's just that for some reason I enjoy talking to you and well, I was wondering if you wanted to stay here.....and talk. And I'm babbling now and I'm making no sense, so if you would rather go home and read a book just say so." Okay, her way of saying what she really wanted was humiliating and it confused her because she wasn't like this. She was cool and calm, but now she was acting her age. She was acting like a crazy fifteen year old.

Rebecca's first explanation worked just fine for Lucas and he nodded accordingly. It made perfect sense for anyone with a conscience to make sure he did not get lost. Given the change in her behavior there as compared to at the gym it seemed to fit. That was until she started to ramble on about how it had been a lie and that could not care less as to if he got lost or not. If it was not for the fact that she said that she enjoyed talking to him he would of just gone home to work on his homework or read a book.
"So you like me?" His eyebrow was raised because truthfully he really could not quite figure her out. One minute she could be fighting with him and the next they could be civil. They could even act like friends would like they had just done while shopping. "Or do you just like messing with my mind? Because I thought we were almost friends for awhile there, but then you say you don't care if I get lost or not." He was confused as to what Rebecca actually thought was going on a good deal. Lucas knew how it felt to have people play mind games with him, and much preferred people just making it plain and simple for him to understand. He did not like having to try and guess what was going on or how someone felt. Playing mind games was highly overrated in his book.
"Are we friends or are we something else? I just want an honest answer." In his mind he thought that maybe they were friends. With how she was acting though he could not be too certain though. Maybe even she did not know what they were or if there was a word to describe it. Part of him was tempted to ask her if they were something more, but he knew better than to ask it in the manner. If she did not feel that way and did not care for him as anything more than a play toy of sorts or a part-time friend than he did not need to giver her that kind of ammunition. Lucas had already given her enough of that up to that point. Besides the last girl that had kept him guessing he really messed things up with in a big way.

Rebecca noticed that he didn't seem to like the fact that she didn't care if he got lost or not. Though his later comment proved to her that he didn't get her invitation. She was trying to make him stay but he didn't get it and instead he confused her. His question about her liking him confused her a lot. She liked talking to him but did this mean that she liked, liked him? It wasn't like in the movies when the characters would have trouble breathing around each other or just want to kiss. She just wanted him to stay so that they could talk.
"I don't know. I mean I like talking to you," she admitted, and she was proud of herself for admitting it. "And I don't really care about anyone getting lost. Once I left my friend all alone during a school trip and she had to find her own way back to the bus. It took her about twenty minuets. So really, I wouldn't take it by heart." Rebecca remembered that the teachers started to search for her friend and they asked her why she didn't wait for her, Rebecca's response was 'She was in the WC for a very long time and I didn't want to miss the bus because of it.' She was ten at the time and it turned out that her friend didn't know how to unlock the door.
"I guess that we are friends," she said with a shrug, but the truth was that she didn't mind being friends with him. Rebecca had no idea what the something else part was about but she had known the guy for like hours. He was lucky that she considered him as a friend. "So, do you want to go somewhere to talk? Or do you want to go home?"

It was good to hear that she seemed to want to be friends. Although Lucas was kind of concerned about the whole part of her not caring if he got lost part still. It had more to do with the fact that he could get lost since he still was not that familiar with the whole of Branson yet. Luke knew what he had to know to get by for now, but it would not be that hard for him to get lost either. "Well as that new guy in town that just so happens to be your friend that has a possibility of getting lost, I think I have a right to be concerned. Besides do you really want your friend to get lost and have everyone around school picking on him?" Lucas was just trying to make a point.
"As far as going home, I think my uncle would worry if I got back too soon." He thought back to when his mother had left Keith in charge of him before. Lucas had not really spent that much time at home then. At the time he had also been dating Brooke Davis. "Even when my mom went to Italy and left him in charge of me I wasn't home that often." Luke also remembered that had been a problem because Brooke had gotten him drunk and he had ended up with a tattoo that he thought said 'fun' which had gotten him in trouble with Keith.
"So where do people go in Branson to just have friendly chats?" Back home in Tree Hill he knew how things worked, but here he was still learning the ins and outs. While learning he was having to trust who he befriended and hoped that they were genuine about things. "Or am I just suppose to guess and get lost," Luke playfully teased her.

Rebecca shook her head a bit because it was clear that Lucas still hadn't gotten over the whole part of her not caring if he got lost. It wasn't like he wasn't making a good point, Rebecca just didn't see the point of the point. Everyone had cellphones nowadays so he wouldn't be lost for a long time. If he ever got lost he could always ask someone about the direction or use his cellphone. Besides, iPhone probably had an app for situations like that.
She was curious as to why his uncle would worry if he got back too soon but she didn't ask. It seemed that his uncle trusted him and she was cool with that. Rebecca had no idea if her father trusted her or not, but he was away for business so it didn't matter much. And he didn't call to check up on her so that meant that he trusted her? Or that he just didn't care. His later comment made her laugh. He sure was something extra. "Don't worry Lucas, I don't plan on losing you...not yet anyway," she responded with a smirk.
Rebecca then started to think about where they could go. The town had some cafes and restaurants, and she didn't mind them. You could talk there and they had some very good milkshakes and lattes. And if you wanted to eat they had all from sandwiches to salads and sweets. "Well we can go to a cafe. The cafes here have some very good stuff there. And don't worry you can just follow my lead and you won't get lost."

At least she did not plan on losing him yet. It did not mean that she would not plan on losing him in the future. Hopefully by then he would know his way around better. Not long after she had thought up a place where they could go, a cafe none the less. Those were kind of his specialty. He liked them and he knew how they worked a good deal. Although he was rather curious how good the food and coffee would be at whatever cafe they ended up eating at. "Cafes are like a second home to me. So it sounds good to me."
He hoped that the town had some decent cafes. Or at least some that at least came close to his mom's cafe as far as quality went. Good quality food was the way to his heart even though he never really took interest in finding out how the girls cooked or baked. If they were not that good at it he could hold his own in the kitchen. Even though his mom loved making food for him she also had taught him how to cook and bake for himself. She did not treat it like she had been teaching him to but treated it more as cooking and baking projects they did together.
"Do you have a favorite cafe?" Lucas knew he had a favorite, but it was not in Branson. No, it was about two hours away in Tree Hill and he missed it already. Although he was willing to give the local ones a chance. "I have one back home that I always go to. I don't know if you have one that you just have to go to or else."

"Not really. The town has like three our four cafes and they are all pretty good. Though the cafe that we are going to now has the most amazing cakes. It's not far," she explained and started to walk. She made sure to stay close to him and she didn't know why because she didn't care if he got lost, but she still made sure that he was right behind her. "So, expect for basketball and cheer leading how's Tree Hill like? This town is so small and everyone knows everyone, but people still manage to have their secrets. Is it the same there?"
Rebecca always wondered how Tree Hill was like. It was bigger than Branson but your barley heard about it when it wasn't basketball season. During basketball season you could hear all about the Ravens. She then stopped walking and turned to Lucas. "We are here," she told and turned to the cafe. "See. I didn't lose you."

Luke listened and followed Rebecca, making sure to keep close and not to get lost. In his mind she seemed awfully interested in Tree Hill. Part of him just wanted to forget about the negative things that came with thinking about Tree Hill. He loved thinking about the positive things, but what her question at least partially asked him to talk about were the negative things. "It's mainly the same there given that your last name isn't Scott. If you have my last name and somehow manage to have a secret that no one else knows about you're lucky. I was rather naive for awhile when I was younger, didn't know or realize who my biological father was until others brought it to my attention. Up until then I had never thought anything of it since my Uncle Keith was around so much. I had always just saw him as being my dad even if he wasn't."
Lucas then realized that maybe she did not want to hear his 'sob' story. He decided it would be best to get back to what she probably really wanted to know about to some extent. "Well there is a mall in Tree Hill. That and there's this place that we like to call the rivercourt that me and the guys use to play at most nights." He stopped talking when she started to announce that they were there, and that she had not lost him. From the outside the cafe did not look bad. Although he knew looks could be deceiving. especially when it came to the chain businesses. "I see," he said and headed into the cafe, keeping track of her whereabouts. "So where would you like to sit?"

Rebecca listened at what he said to say about Tree Hill and it was pretty similar to Branson. It seemed like the last name Scott was very popular in Tree Hill and in Branson anyone with lots of money was popular. Rebecca thought the reason for this was because the rich people always had some dirt covered up, and she knew that her father had some dirt. The people who knew her family knew all about her biological mother and that she had left them. Though the people who weren't familiar with the story were told that her biological mother was dead. Her father had too much pride and didn't want anyone to be snooping around. Sometimes she would say that her mother was dead to new people because after hearing her father say it so many times it became believable, and more than just fiction.
She was brought back to the reality when Lucas asked her where she wanted to sit. She didn't really have a favorite spot but noticed a empty table and made her way towards it. It was only after a few seconds that she realized that she had left him behind. "Ops, sorry. We can sit here," she told and smiled. "Sometimes I get lost in Rebecca land and forget about everything and everyone around me. Oh and you should definitely order one of the cakes here, they are delicious. "

Lucas watched as Rebecca started to head towards a table without him for a couple of seconds. Then it seemed as if she had remembered that he had been with her. She apologized, and he figured that at least that was a good start. Rebecca then went about explaining why she had forgotten that he was there and how he should order cake. He had nothing against cake and he would order some, but he liked to do some test tasting when he went somewhere the first time if he could. Not just of their specialties either. Lucas personally found that the quality of the pies had a way of telling you a lot more about the quality of the restaurant than most of the other items on the menu.
"Don't worry, I'll order some cake," Luke assured her as he pulled out from the table a little for her. He motioned for her to sit down. Lucas usually was not so proper about such stuff, but he figured that since she was being nice that he could be nice back and perhaps than some. "Maybe I should take you to Tree Hill sometime and see if you get lost there." He cracked a smile and let out a slight laugh. After all he was just joking. Lucas knew he would be considerate enough not to loose her or let her get lost.

Rebecca watched as Lucas pulled out the chair and she was surprised, but it was good surprised. He was truly a gentleman. She went over to the chair and sat down. When he mentioned that he would order some cake she gave him a smile and start to think about what she would order. She really liked the milkshakes that they had and her favorite cake was the chocolate one. Sure, Rebecca watched what she ate and she tried to healthy, trying to get into the cheer leading squat made her to that, but she did like to eat something sweet once in a while.
After hearing his later comment she let out a little laugh. "Nah, you are too nice to let that happen. You'll probably be my guide" she said. "Though if I do get lost I can always call you to pick me up, since I have a cellphone and all that." Rebecca then remembered that she had his number but he didn't have hers. "Give me your phone and don't worry I won't steal it. I just remembered that I never gave you my number. That way you can call me whenever you want to take me to Tree Hill." The later comment was more her teasing him than being serious, but she wondered how he would take it.
